Uses of Signal Analyzer For OTA, CATV, and Satellite

Applications for Over the Air TV:
The MSK-200 is designed to handle multiple DVB and ATSC standards including over the air TV transmission analysis. TV stations and cable companies with over the air signals typically use the MSK-200 to maintain, repair and install antenna systems and conduct ATSC/8VSB measurements at the transmitter. The MSK-200 also helps isolate failed equipment and facilitates fault finding in systems. The impulse analyzer in the MSK-200 allows for measuring transmission, reflection/echoing problems as well as cable impedance measurements and return loss. Another typical application for the MSK-200 during DVB-T/ATSC measurements is the ability to measure 16QAM, 64QAM and QPSK modulation types.
Typical Applications - TV station transmitters, professional cable headends, antenna installation, maintenance and repairs, single frequency networks.
Applications for Satellite:
The MSK-200 allows for demodulation and analysis of DVB-S and DVB-S2 and analog satellite signals (PAL,SECAM,NTSC). Typically the MSK-200 is used for installation, maintenance and repair of satellite networks. Specific features facilitates alignment such as the unique LNB control switching feature using DiSEqC 2.0 controls to verify and make sure cross polarization is correct on both High and Low horizontal and vertical polarizations. The MSK-200 allows for QPSK/8PSK analysis of satellite signals. Operators also use the MSK-200 to quickly diagnose interference issues and adjust for a quality signal.
Typical Satellite Applications - VSAT, flyaways, Teleports, Receive sites, remote sites, Maritime Satellite systems, TVRO, Oil and gas remote locations and more.
Applications for Cable Networks
Cable networks typically use the MSK-200 due to the nature of cable operators receiving all DVB signals, over the air and satellite both analog and digital. The MSK-200 is used to install, repair and maintain simple to complex cable networks and professional head end and final measurements of the network. Cable companies use the MSK-200 to demodulate and analyze DVB-C US J83 A/B/C signals. The MSK-200 also allows for single frequency measurements using the impulse analyzer. Typical measurements on cable networks include VSWR, MER, impedance measurements, Channel power, HUM and more. Specifically for CATV, the MSK-200 functions as a DOCSIS analyzer, SLM analyzer, and signal level analyzer.
Typical Applications - Cable TV systems, enterprise video systems, theme park video, multi-dwelling units, hotel TV systems, single cable controls
